Springfield Illinois

We went through Springfield and saw Abraham Lincoln's home. I was surprised to find out it's the only "National Park" in the whole state! I spent some time watching documentaries on Lincoln before we left (having a newborn gives you plenty of time on the couch).

La Plata Train Depot

Ever since Austin could say "Choo Choo" he has been obsessed with trains. There is an old train station about 15 minutes from Kirksville. It has been renovated into a hotel and you can give yourself a "tour". Austin ran all over pointing out all the trains to us. Needless to say it took awhile to see it all!
We took these pictures just before Trevor's mom left. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open because I was laughing so hard. Bridgers diaper was exploding all over my lap!!!

Coming Home

Leaving the hospital was a little overwhelming. Trevor was at the end of a quarter and let's just say that being the wife of a medical student is not the easiest thing to accomplish. Luckily I had my mom and mother in law. I wouldn't have survived without them!

Hospital Pics

We are having so much fun! Luckily my mom was able to fly out early so we are suruviving. Our doctor kindly asked how Trevor was doing and when I told him he was given an extra day to take his exams (he will take them tomorrow) he told me I need to stay another night so he can sleep and study. I'm ready to get home but another night of help can't be a bad thing right? We will be figuring it all out soon enough. Austin is really excited about the "baby" and wants to hold him all the time. We'll see how he feels about him when we walk in the front door!

Bridger Mellor Wright

Our sweet little boy arrived on April 27th at 7:17 am. He weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 21 inches long!!! He has a lot of dark brown hair and his daddy's adorable chin!

Contractions

I was scheduled for a C-section on May 1st but on April 26th I started having contractions every 2-4 minutes and lasting around 1 minute long. Trevor and I snagged this picture before going to the hospital for what we thought may be "the real deal". I even packed a hospital bag. We felt a lot more prepared this time. Of coarse they ended up sending us home because I had no cervical change. The hospital bag came in handy a few hours later though- I woke up at 2:30 am and my water had broken!

Blue and White Stripes

I found a really good deal on a seer-sucker suit for Easter. Austin literally "strutted" around the house when we put it on him. He KNEW he looked good!
